August is just around the corner and you know what that means: it's time to go on holiday! It's a chance to relax, recover from a tough year full of changes or just enjoy some quality time with your loved ones. As we had an idea about your holiday plans, we decided to share ours in return. 😎
To do so, we polled the members of the Yabe team. Indiscretions, good tips and music below!
I have planned a small tour of France: Compiègne, Normandy, Brittany, Périgord Noir, Bassin d'Arcachon, Pays Basques.
I'm a history buff, so my holidays really revolve around that. I have to visit many guest houses in castle mode! And by the way, a local anecdote: every year I go to Chez Josette (Saint-Malo) to stock up on socks!
I'm off to the port city of Hersonissos, located on the northern coast of Crete, Greece.
I discovered this island 10 years ago and I really appreciate the open-mindedness of the inhabitants, who are very pleasant and warm. Otherwise there's also the fact that you can enjoy cocktails and the beach, while dad splashes around with the kids. 🤣
And if I just started at Yabe and spend my summer in Metz onboarding traders and enjoying the terraces, does that make it okay? 🙈😅
No kidding aside, I don't know if I'll move. But last weekend I was at a friend's place in the Haute Marne and I visited the vineyards and the Champagne estate.
I am going to Portiragnes, near Béziers.
I was told about a small typical market that I'm looking forward to discovering. But I think the beach with my big dog comes first. 😄
I was in Rome last week!
In via del Corso, there are lots of small independent shops where I found some nuggets! The shopkeepers are adorable, there are many handmade products... And please believe me that it was crowded at the entrance, while Zara and H&M were quite empty...
For me it will be Ibiza.
A tent by the sea and a morning dip in a deserted cove to wake up before having breakfast at the local bar!
Direction, the Maldives! 🏝
I've never been there before but I can't wait. I need to be quiet and get away from everything and everyone - that's why I chose a small island paradise that only has one hotel. 😝
I am going to Luberon, between the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Vaucluse department for its magnificent mountain range.
Visit the few small local craft markets and enjoy the gastro restaurants with my family (fuck it, life is short 😏)
I'm going down to Montpellier (Occitanie) soon, I can't wait.
The Lez market is one of my favourite spots. It's a real little village with shops, antique dealers, farmers' markets, restaurants, foodtrucks, startups, animations and events, exhibitions...
I am going to a Peninsula in the Sahara, in the very south of Morocco, Dakhla
I am looking forward to discovering Herné Island, called "Dragon Island" because of its shape. A mysterious island with hidden beaches and underwater meadows, accessible only at low tide. The rest of the day it is surrounded by the waters of the bay.
For me, it was Corsica, I've just come back from there today...
I love going to this island to enjoy their platters of cured meats and cheeses that come from local producers. My favourite: the lonzu with a Pietra 😋
I'm going to Serbia for two weeks.
I love hiking so I'm looking forward to discovering the countryside and the "ethno" villages (traditional Serbian villages), as well as the mountains.
Personally, all I care about is dipping my paws in the sea (early in the morning or late in the evening, otherwise it's a bit too hot for me) and tasting some local specialities (bits of ham and cheese crusts in particular).
